Why I changed my Business name
Why has Mark gone and changed his business name? What happened to Fox Fitness? š¤ Some of you may be thinking who gives a toss what he does. If thats you this blog post isnāt for eyes and youāre better off spending some time elsewhere.
For the rest of you that are still reading. Thanks youāre awesome š
Fox Fitness is no more and now my company name is Minimalist Nutrition.
Online Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching (with a little bit of minimalist home training (like what I did there š).
Rather a personal trainer Iām now more Nutritionist, Nutrition Specialist, Nutrition Coach, Lifestyle Coach, Habit Coach, maybe Life Coach even.....
Anyway call me whatever you want Iām not fussed š¤·āāļø All you need to know is that.....
I help people that have spent years dieting, are confused about food and donāt know what else to do, finally lose weight and transform their bodies.
I help wade through the lies and bullshit of what nutrition and fitness has become by showing people the truth. Giving people direction and purpose so they can spend time on what really matters - their family, friends, hobbies or whatever else they love.
All remotely, online š» š± š
Why change what youāre doing?
I love training people in-person face-to-face and always will do but I wanted a new challenge. Theyāll always be an element of training people face-to-face as I couldnāt imagine not seeing my clients every week for training. Iāll still be taking on new face-to-face clients but nowhere near as many as before.
Iāve also learned that I love š coaching people away from the gym. Helping them understand how their bodies work and figuring out what nutritional and lifestyle strategies will help them get the results they want.
I started in the fitness industry 20 years ago because I have a passion for helping people š¤ . Helping people gain confidence and becoming an even more awesome version of themselves.šŖ
Over the years Iāve spent countless hours and money learning nutrition and habit change to help people achieve the results they deserve. I find it fascinating and want to share that knowledge with as many people as I can.
Online Coaching is my way of sharing this knowledge and helping more people.
Itās so effective that Iām seeing the same if not better results than my in-person clients. Exercise is only a small element of changing your shape. Even if you workout for 60 minutes 7 days per week you still have another 161 hours in the week. Thats a lot of time to mess up all the good work you did working out.
So why is online coaching so great?
Many reasons. Each week I have a coaching calls with a clients. Hereās what we cover.
Long term goals
Goals for the next 7 days
What habits to work on
Reviewing the past week
What exercise to do
How to plan for a busy week
How to plan for working away
What to eat for their goals
Troubleshooting any issues
Answering any questions they may have
Each and every week clients knows exactly what to do to move closer to their goals. With online coaching Iām covering their whole life not just exercise. Work, stress, sleep, personal issues etc.
This is a two-way conversation, the client has the final decision what they want to do. If we feel something isnāt achievable for that week we plan around that making adjustments.
On top of that I support them 24/7 with my online software/apps so they know someone is there on hand at anytime they need it.
Donāt you do this as a personal trainer?
Not really. Iāve tried in the past to do this but it takes a lot of time. Talking through these elements requires attention, doing it mid session isnāt ideal. This could done separately but I would have to charge for my time resulting in doubling the cost for clients.
On top of that peopleās lives are getting more and more busy so travelling to have a workout takes valuable time away from my clients lives. Itās probably one of the main reasons why people donāt exercise, lack of time. With online coaching I can give them workouts to do at home (or gym if thatās what they want) as well as all the lifestyle and nutrition elements.
Hopefully you can see why I wanted to move in to Online Coaching. Iām so excited š to offer this as a service I could explode.
Why change the business name though.
Minimalism is in my DNA. Throughout life Iāve tried to only have whatās essential. That doesnāt mean I have nothing it just means I only have things that I really need.
This is something Iāve always brought to my business. The most very basic yet effective essential exercises. The same for nutrition, its not about eating less its about eating more nutritious foods and what you love but having a purpose of it being there.
Plus, having my name in my business name is a little narcissistic isnāt š
Even the great CEO and founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, didnāt call his company āJobsā. I mean how silly does a āJobs iPhoneā or a āJobs iPadā sound š¤¦āāļø
Iām not my business, it doesnāt define who I am like I felt Fox Fitness did. Six-pack abs and boiled chicken. When people asked me what sports I did (because thatās what I was supposed to like) I shrugged my head and replied with āI hate sports!ā š¬
I love weight training and how it makes me look and feel, but I have other loves in my life that arenāt fitness and nutrition. My family, friends, Whippets, video games, comics, movies and more. I love these things far more than fitness.
Iām passionate about changing peoples lives not exercise and nutrition. These things are just means to an end that I need to know to help people get the results they want.
Changing my business name helped me separate myself from my business while still representing what I offer.
Going forward
You may have clicked ālikeā or signed up to receive content from me in the past and Iām so happy you did. Thereās so much choice out there so choosing me for some of it is amazing.
Thats all changing now. Iāll still be putting out great content on my social media channels and email list but now itāll be more focused. Iāll be mainly focusing on nutrition, habit change and a small amount of minimalist training you can do at home (or the gym).
Hope you stay with me on this journey of mine, and I hope to maybe be part of yours in the future. We all need a bit of help and guidance sometimes š
